SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – Operatives of the SBMA Law Enforcement Department (LED) apprehended a carnapper while trying to exit at Kalaklan Gate on board a red Toyota Townace Noah.
LED manager Col. Vicente Tolentino, said suspect Cris Peralta, 46, was held at the Kalaklan Gate while trying to escape on board the said vehicle.
Peralta reportedly stole the vehicle owned by Edgar Ocampo while parked at the Regulatory Building in front of the Harbor Point Ayala Mall.
Report said when Ocampo returned at the parking area he noticed the vehicle was missing and nowhere to be found.
Ocampo immediately informed the LED of the incident, which immediately prompted the authorities to put out the call to every sentry in the SBFZ.
At the Kalaklan Gate LED enforcers saw the vehicle and accosted Peralta who was driving the stolen car.
The suspect is now facing carnapping case at the City Prosecutors Office in Olongapo City.
