CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — To further strengthen programs aimed at protecting the safety, health, and mental well-being of learners across the province, the Provincial Government of Pampanga is set to establish the Alagang Kabataan Provincial Inter-Agency Coordinating Council.

During the Meeting on School Safety Measures and Strengthening Anti-Bullying Mechanisms held on June 29, at the Executive House of the Capitol, Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda said the council will oversee initiatives for students in 617 public schools and 153 private schools at the elementary and high school levels in Pampanga.

To be composed of representatives from the Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Justice, Department of Health, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, state universities and colleges, parent-teacher associations, other government agencies, and non-government organizations, Alagang Kabataan, will foster closer coordination among key government agencies, educational institutions, and community stakeholders to ensure a more responsive and unified approach to addressing the needs of Kapampangan learners.

The provincial government emphasized that every Kapampangan child deserves to be protected, heard, guided, and cared for.

“Alagang Kabataan inter-agency council, lahat dapat ng ahensya ng gobyerno, dapat tulong-tulong tayo… dapat ang pokus natin ay alagaan ang mga kabataan,” the governor said.

As part of the initiative, Capitol is also set to open the Care and Counseling Center, located behind the OFW Hospital in Barangay Sindalan, City of San Fernando, on June 30.

The center will serve as a facility that provides support, guidance, and care for Kapampangan youth, especially those in need of counseling and other forms of assistance related to their overall well-being. Pampanga PIO/Photos: Daniel Ombina
