SANGLEY POINT, CAVITE CITY — BRP Emilio Jacinto (PS35) returned to operational duty as the Philippine Fleet (PF), Philippine Navy, through the Offshore Combat Force (OCF), sent off the vessel for deployment to the Naval Command Western Mindanao (NCWM) following a ceremony at Captain Salvo Pier, Naval Base Heracleo Alano, on Oct. 2.

OCF commander Commodore Lorenzo H Bolor Jr PN, led the send-off ceremony, which marked PS35’s return to operations following the completion of seven months of repair and refurbishment. The work was undertaken by Golden Arrow Trading, with assistance from the Naval Shipyard, Sea Systems Command, Philippine Navy, and the ship’s force.

BRP Emilio Jacinto, under the command of Commander Junie P Sulpot PN, will deploy to the NCWM area of responsibility to support ongoing naval operations in Western Mindanao.

In his keynote address, Bolor emphasized the importance of mission readiness at sea, reminding the crew that their efforts in restoring the vessel must now translate into vigilance and preparedness during deployment.

“You have worked through the requirements of restoring the ship, its systems, and its material condition. Now, the work continues at sea. You will deploy to the NCWM area of responsibility, where you will be called upon to remain vigilant, disciplined, and capable,” he said.

He further reminded the crew to maintain proficiency in operating the vessel and its systems and to remain prepared for the demands of their mission. “My expectation is simple: be ready. Know your ship, know your systems, know your procedures, and know your shipmates… Safeguard our waters, uphold our sovereignty, and accomplish your task the OCF way.”

The deployment of BRP Emilio Jacinto to Western Mindanao supports the Philippine Navy’s Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC) by sustaining naval presence and operational readiness across the country’s maritime areas. The vessel will support territorial defense, maritime patrol, logistics support, and other missions within its designated area of operations.
