PALAYAN CITY – A total of 89 children and violated young women at the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office’s (DSWD’s) Regional Home For Girls here have received a grand Christmas treat from the officials and employees of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office 23-B (RDO 23B) South Nueva Ecija Friday.
On top of the personal supplies and hygiene kits, the girls were treated with fun games and lunch at the Center.
Revenue District Office chief Lope Tubera said employees volunteered some amounts from their own pockets for the outreach activity.
They also donated sacks of high grade rice and noodles for their consumption inside the facility.
“Nagtulong-tulong lahat para dito,” Tubera said.
Asst. RDO Carlito Bohol said they wanted to send the message to the facility residents there were people who really think and care for them.
“Nang sa gayon ay maramdaman din po nila na ang Pasko ay nalalapit na at bagama’t sila ay mga abandonado (before admission to the home) na mga kababaihan…mga bata ay dapat kalingain pa rin natin sila,” Bohol.said.
“Bigyan natin sila ng pansin at kaligayan sa araw ng Pasko at sa susunod pang mga araw,” Bohol added.
Social Worker April Shaira Castro said the gifts and donations as well as the activities extended by the BIR RDO 23-B officials and employees have brought genuine joy to their residents.
“Napakahalaga po ng mga ganitong activities lalo na po sa ating mga bata na walang families na nakakadalaw po dito lalo po ngayon na holiday season po,” said Castro.
A number of recipients, in a sign gratitude, individually wrote thank you messages which they gave to the donors.
