Bataan winners proclaimed

BALANGA CITY — All winners in the provincial and congressional posts as well as all municipal slates in Bataan’s 11 towns and one city had been proclaimed as of March 16.

The provincial board of canvassers declared as officials winners Gov. Albert Garcia, Vice-Gov. Crisanta Garcia, 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman, and 2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III.

Crisanta and Joet both ran unopposed. Albert and Geraldine won overwhelmingly over their opponents.

Also proclaimed were five members each of the sangguniang panlalawigan in the first and second districts, all under the banner of the Garcia-Roman alliance.

“We look forward to working together for the good of Bataan,” Roman said.

Joet thanked all for a peaceful and orderly elections.“Magtatrabahao tayo para maging No. 1 ang Bataan lalo na sa Human Development Index,” he said.

“Maramig salamat na naging mapayapa ang eleksiyon at makakaasa kayo na isusulong natin ang mga programa sa ikabubuti ng 11 bayan at isang lungsod,” the vice-governor, Joet’s first cousin, said.

“Kapag may pagkakaisa, malayo ang mararating ng ating lalawigan,” the governor, Crisanta’s cousin and Joet’s brother, appealed for unity, adding “napakapalad natin dahil walang casualty at very peaceful ang eleksiyon.”

“Nagsalita na ang taong- bayan. Maraming masasakit na salita for the sake of the campaign. Ngayon tapos na, simulan natin ang paghihilom ng mga sugat nang sa ganoon tuloy-tuloy ang ating kaunlaran, pagkakaisa ng lahat,” the governor on his last term said.
