1ST District Rep. Geraldine Roman for her part sent this message: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of our former President Noynoy Aquino. I met him as I started my journey as a politician and many of his programs continue to inspire me in my work as a legislator.”
“Of particular significance are his programs on public participation such as the BUB or bottoms-up budgeting as well as his progressive stance on women’s reproductive health as exemplified by the RH Law,” Roman furthered. But most of all, I remember him as that kind leader who tried to make a difference in the lives of Filipinos through his servant leadership. Sabi nga niya: ‘Kayo ang boss ko.’”
Roman extended her heartfelt condolences to the Aquino family.
The congresswoman’s brother and chief legal adviser Lawyer Tony “Boy” Roman lauded the services rendered by Aquino to the country: “Mula sa pamilya Roman ng Bataan, our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family of the late President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III.”
“PNoy has lived a purposeful life and the country enjoyed a robust economy during his presidency. My father also had the honor of working with him as a Cabinet Secretary. Thank you for your life and your service, PNoy! May you rest in peace!,” Tony Boy said.
The late Bataan Congressman Antonino Roman was their father.
