More than 2,000 farmers and fisherfolks from four towns in Bataan on Thursday received cash assistance from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
The beneficiaries of the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolks program were from the first district of Bataan composing the towns of Orani, Samal, Abucay and Hermosa under Congressman Tony Roman.

They received their payout of P2,325 each at the Plaza Antonino in Orani. The program was placed under the Department of Agriculture.
“This is a program under President Bongbong Marcos to help fishermen and fisherfolks as a form of fuel subsidy. I know it is a small amount but I hope it will be of help to ease the farmers and fishermen on the problem of the high cost of petroleum products,” Roman said.

He said that the program will benefit thousands of farmers and fisherfolks in the country. “Alam natin na nagtaas ng presyo ng krudo kaya naging magastos ang pag-aani at pangingisda.”
In Bataan, Roman said, the beneficiaries are 1,100 in Hermosa, more than 300 in Orani, 700 in Samal and more than 300 in Abucay. (30)
