SUBIC TOWN, Zambales — Operatives of Subic Municipal Police Station arrested an Australian national suspected in the killing of his live-in partner in Barangay Sto. Tomas here.

Police Major Gilbert Diaz, head of Subic PNP, identifi ed Jamie Mathew Flanagan, 53, as prime suspect in the killing of his 25-year-old partner Desiree Mañozo in their house in Sta. Monica subdivision.

Initial police report said Mañozo committed suicide when her child saw her hanging inside their bedroom. But an autopsy conducted by the medico-legal officer showed that Mañozo was already dead prior to the hanging.

According to the victim’s relatives, the suspect and the victim were having a heated argument inside their room the night before the incident.

The victim was discovered hanging with three neckties around her neck in their bedroom.

The police report stated that the couple had arguments regarding the suspect’s plan to bring their daughter with him to Australia, and that the victim was suspecting her partner of having another woman.

Flanagan is now locked up in jail facing a homicide case before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Olongapo City.
