BALER, Aurora (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Aurora has intensified energy conservation measures across all offices to reduce electricity and fuel consumption by up to 20 percent.

This directive, issued through Memorandum No. 03-114 and signed by Acting Governor Patrick Alexis Angara, requires efficient and responsible use across provincial government operations in response to the declaration of State of National Energy Emergency.

It states key measures namely reducing energy consumption in daily operations, and limiting large gatherings and non-essential activities.

Also, maintaining a standard 24°C setting for air conditioning units, switching off lights and equipment when not in use, and maximizing virtual platforms for meetings.

The policy also limits non-essential official travel and calls for efficient fuel use of government vehicles.

Municipal governments and barangays are urged to adopt similar measures to support province-wide conservation efforts.

Angara assured that the measures will not affect the quality and continuity of public services at the provincial capitol.

Offices providing frontline and essential services will remain fully operational and ensure uninterrupted delivery while implementing energy conservation protocols.

Meanwhile, the provincial government has rolled out an information drive on petroleum conservation and proper fuel use to help communities avoid misinformation and prevent unnecessary panic.

It has also implemented a four-day workweek and established a dedicated bicycle parking area within the capitol compound to promote sustainable and eco-friendly commuting.

The provincial government expects the initiative to lower expenses, promote sustainability, and encourage local government units and communities to practice efficient energy use.(CLJD/MAT, PIA Region 3- Aurora)The Provincial Government of Aurora issues Memorandum No. 03-114 to intensify energy conservation measures across all offices, aiming to cut electricity and fuel use by up to 20 percent in response the declaration of State of National Energy Emergency.
