ANGELES CITY – This highly-urbanized city is set to observe a more reflective and solemn Holy Week with various religious and cultural activities in partnership with the religious sector performing arts and socio-civic groups.

“The observance of the Lenten Season in our city will highlight our annual activities, both religious and traditional events, which aim to give our people and tourists a chance to reflect on their faith,” said tourism officer John Montances.

Montances also encouraged the tourists and pilgrims to visit the city and witness the diff erent Angeleño religious and cultural practices of the season.

For his part, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said that the observance of the Lenten Week in the city will give devotees options and means to contemplate.

“The Holy week is about the reflection of one’s soul, this is a time for self-realization and look back at the sacrifices that Christ has done for all of us,” said Mayor Pamintuan.

For this year, Sinukwan Kapampangan Center for the Arts will stage the 7th edition of the “Panata at Panalangin” on March 26th and 31st, 6:00pm at MarQuee Mall Open Grounds.

Happening on the 28th is the annual community- wide gathering “Apunan ning Pamisasanmetung” which will be staged by the Tabun Barangay Council at 6:00pm.

Meanwhile, the city’s most anticipated twopart re-enactment of the Siete Palabras (Seven Last Words) will happen on March 29 with the Re-enactment of the Last Supper, 6:00pm at Arevalo Basketball Court, and on the 30th with the Re-enactment of the Crucifixion and Death of Christ, 1:00pm at the Golgotha, Barangay Lourdes Northwest.
