CLARK FREEPORT – Two major events marked the celebration of the 62nd founding anniversary of the Philippine Air Force’s Air Defense Command (ADC) themed “ADC@62: Accelerating with Excellence the Integrated Air Defense System and Adapting to Modern Air Battle space for Territorial Defense.”
On Aug. 24, a pre-anniversary community service Family Day was sponsored by the ADC at the Duyan ni Maria, a shelter and care facility for children, enabling the Team Defenders to share the spirit of compassion, solidarity and quality time as an extended family with parlor games from the traditional sack race to modern twist relays and gift-giving to the joy of the children. Impacting in the young minds the image of a compassionate parent or guardian in-uniform.
On Sept. 1, ADC commemorated its anniversary day highlighting its achievements and accomplishments over the years with Stakeholders Awards at the Air Force City Officers Club here with PAF commanding general Lt. Gen. Stephen P. Parreño as guest of honor and speaker.
The command gave recognition to deserving ADC officers, enlisted personnel, civilian human resource, and stakeholders who contributed to “the accomplishment of the ADC Mission.”
The ADC Educational Assistance Program also awarded scholarship assistance to qualified dependents.
As the festivities drew close, the ADC’s resounding message was “unity, commitment, and unwavering resolve.”
The 62nd founding anniversary not only celebrated the command’s rich legacy but also illuminated the path forward, where excellence, integration, and adaptability will continue to be the guiding stars, ensuring that the Air Defense Command remains a steadfast guardian of territorial defense and security for many more years to come.
