CANDABA, Pampanga – Additional 5,000 units have been allocated at the socialized housing project here under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program.

This doubles the initial 5,000 units covered in the first phase of the project dubbed as St. Andrew’s Residences in Barangay Mandasig. With the 10,000 total, Candaba has the largest allocation in Pampanga under the 4PH program.

During a recent site inspection with Mayor Rene Maglanque, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar expressed confidence in the potential of the project’s location, citing its accessibility to government offices, school, hospital, and business establishments, thereby seeing feasibility in the provision of additional units.

Acuzar commended the Candaba local government for their “proactive response” to the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to bridge the housing gaps in their region. The 4PH program is among the flagship programs of the president in a bid to provide affordable and decent housing for Filipinos.

The secretary stressed the importance of providing comprehensive amenities within the condominium buildings, including parks and playgrounds, to create a vibrant city-living environment in a provincial setting.

For his part, Maglanque said the establishment of St. Andrew’s Residences will revolutionize the way of living, and usher in further progress and growth in Candaba.

He said the project encompasses the construction of modern, affordable housing units that meet the needs and aspirations of local residents with the new homes designed for quality, functionality, and aesthetics, ensuring comfortable living spaces for families and individuals.

The mayor added that the housing project will be strategically connected to neighboring towns through a bypass road to be constructed through the assistance of 4th District Rep. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum.

The planned bypass road will facilitate connectivity between Candaba and Clark, passing through the NLEX and featuring a Sto. Tomas exit.

This six-lane road project will include a dedicated bike lane and will traverse the towns of Magalang, Arayat, Sta. Ana, Candaba, San Luis, San Simon, and Sto. Tomas.

The new road network is expected to transform Candaba into a bustling center within just five years, with the St. Andrew’s Residences as one of its anchors.
