SUBIC, Zambales – A father, his two sons and a nephew, all suspects in a murder case were arrested by joint elements of the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (ZCIDT) and military intelligence in Sitio Mapanao, Barangay Asinan Proper here, Wednesday afternoon.
ZCIDT provincial officer, Chief Inspector Rogelio Peñones, Jr., identified the suspects as Manuel Bulawan, 56, native of Catarman, Samar, his two sons, Albert, 21, Johnny, 24 and nephew Raymond Abellana, 20, all residents of the said place.
Peñones said that at about 4 p.m., the suspects were arrested at their residence by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Richard Paradeza, RTC, Branch 72 of Olongapo City for the crime of murder.
The reports added that the suspects conspired in the killing of a certain Virgilio Rodillas, 50, of Sitio Mapanao, Barangay Asinan Proper, Subic town last January 31, 2009. Rodillas sustained gunshot wounds in the head and stab wounds in different parts of his body.
“Naiinggit sila sa amin dahil nakakaahon na kami sa buhay at napagbibintangang kami ang pumatay, yung pangyayari ay hindi namin alam, nagulat na lamang kami nang may dumating na pulis. Sa totoo niyan malayo yung pinangyarihan ng krimen sa aming lugar” said Manuel Bulawan in interview.
Earlier, Bulawan’s son, Miguel, 30, was first nabbed by Subic town police last January 31, 2009 after the killing of Rodillas. He is now detained at Olongapo City District Jail in Barangay Barretto, Olongapo City.
Bulawan and his two sons and nephew were all detained at ZCIDT detention cell for proper disposition and will be transferred to the Olongapo City District Jail.
