CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The 15th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week on August 8-12 will highlight various researches on national recovery and resiliency.

Central Luzon Health Research and Development Consortium (CLHRDC) member, and University of the Assumption Research Director Arnel Sicat shared that the event will be a collaboration of all public and private research institutions in the country for research studies and information exchange.

“Joining us in this is the Department of Science and Technology as the lead, the Department of Health, hospitals, and higher education institutions. We are bringing together the health research community,” he said.

The celebration is in line with the goal of PNHRS, an integrated national framework for health research in the country, of promoting cooperation and integration of all health research efforts and stakeholders in the country to ensure that research contributes to the country’s health policy and actions.

With CLHRDC as the host of this year’s week-long event, Sicat highlighted that the activities they have prepared include presentations of various health studies, medical writing workshops, practical training on research ethics, and plenary sessions on vital topics.

“We were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic that is why most of our research has something to do about resiliency and recovery… I believe the studies and information that we will get here will definitely help us mitigate the challenges of the pandemic. The most important thing is unity and collaboration among research institutions,” he pressed.

To join the sessions, the public is encouraged to register at https://15thpnhrsweekcelebration.dost3.ph.

This year’s event goes with the theme “Health Research: Responding to Challenges Towards National Recovery and Resiliency”. It will be held at Clark Marriott Hotel inside Clark Freeport Zone in a hybrid format. (
