CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Within the next two years, three new public health buildings will rise here with the state-run Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) expanding its services through more health infrastructures.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, on April 1, led the groundbreaking for the projects, including a three-storey infectious disease building, a four-storey trauma ward, and a six-storey orthopedics.

The three buildings will have a combined capacity of 210 beds. The projects were realized through a partnership between the Department of Health and the Asian Development Bank to enhance health system and address the Covid-19 pandemic, and related diseases and medical concerns.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago who joined the groundbreaking rites expressed his elation over the development: “The city is glad to have additional facilities that will cater to the ‘better quality healthcare’ needs of Fernandinos, Kapampangans, and the rest of Central Luzon people.

Pampanga 3rd District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales and Vice Gov. Lilia G. Pineda also graced the occasion.
