CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A man selling wildlife online was arrested by joint operatives of the Headquarters Maritime Unit 3, Bataan Maritime Police Station and Community Environment and Natural Office-Pampanga Enforcement Section and COMPAC 2 City of San Fernando Police Station in entrapment at the parking area of Northwalk in Barangay Dolores here Saturday.
The law enforcers led by Col. Fernado L. Cunanan arrested Edzel Manalansan y Dimaano, 20, of Purok 6, Barangay San Antonio, Lubao, Pampanga.
Reports said that after several days of cyber patrolling the activity of the suspect on an online buy-and-sell store named Pampanga Exotic, the suspects and personnel of HRMU3 engaged in several conversations pertaining to the selling/transacting of wildlife animals.
Rescued from the suspect was one bearded dragon being sold for P3,000.
The rescued animal was brought to DENR-Pampanga and the arrested suspect was brought to Bataan MARPSTA
Charges for violation of R.A 9147 (Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act) in relation to Sec 6 of RA 10175 are being readied against the suspect.
