ANGELES CITY — Residents here especially senior citizens received their free initial check-up for the free cataract operation from the joint project of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and Pampanga First District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II.
Residents who availed the free cataract operations were picked up from their homes by the city government thru the Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles.
Cabiles said that today, November 16, twenty residents from two barangays already received their initial check-up from the Holy Family Medical Center, the city’s partner health institution.
Seventeen are from Barangay Sto. Domingo and three are from Pulungbulu, Cabiles shared.
Among the 20, Cabiles said, nine of them were assessed to undergo cataract operation. The remaining 11 residents will be assisted for medicines for their eye treatment.
Further, Cabiles also said that the schedule of check-up for the remaining residents from other barangays will follow suit.
“Kami po mismo sa GAD ang tatawag sa bawat pasyente para sakanilang sundo at check-up,” Cabiles said.
“Likewise on their schedule of operation,” she added.
To recall, Mayor Lazatin has announced the free cataract operation last October 22 thru his Memorandum No. 1445, series of 2021.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said all forms of the residents who wish to avail the health service was collected by GAD staff from the six Rural Health Units and 28 sub-health centers with their necessary documents.
