ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. announced on Wednesday, September 29, that all 4,288 employees here – elected, co-terminus, casual, and Contract of Service – are to receive 10 kilos of rice on Dec. 9, just in time for the city hall’s thanksgiving and fellowship party.
Among the beneficiaries of the rice subsidy are the 13 elected officials in the city; 1,316 permanent, casual, and contractual personnel; and 2,959 COS employees.
“Lahat po ay makakatanggap ng rice package. This is to honor and recognize the unwavering dedication of our employees in serving the public amid the pandemic,” Lazatin said.
Flordeliza Santos, president of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA), showed her appreciation for Mayor Lazatin for his kindness not just to the city hall employees, but also to their families.
“He is truly working hard to show his appreciation to the employees by providing us with these kinds of benefits despite the pandemic,” Santos said.
The rice subsidy, she furthered, is a great help amid the pandemic, especially this Christmas season.
According to her, this is an unexpected news apart from the P17,000 additional benefits for the 1,316 permanent, casual, and contractual workers and P3,000 year-end gratuity for 2,959 COS personnel.
On behalf of the employees, Santos also thanked Mayor Lazatin, including his Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, for setting the bar high when it comes to taking care of the employees, bringing inspiration to personnel to work harder and exemplifying better and quality public service to the people of Angeles City.
Reggie Rubio, AGENDA BOD and Committee Chair on Membership, agreed to this, saying, “Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa walang humpay na biyaya mula kay Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., Ma’am IC and Ma’am Reina.
Joana Javier, also AGENDA BOD, cited the efforts of the Lazatin administration to push for the provision of benefits and incentives for employees.
