ANGELES CITY – A total of 168 members of the Aeta community in Barangay Sapangbato have received their vaccines via the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay program of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
The said Aetas are from Sitio Target and Sitio Babo, records from the second mobile bus clinic deployed in Sapangbato showed.
A total of 4,481 residents were vaccinated in Barangay Sapangbato — 1,963 on August 31; 1,767 on September 1 and 751 on September 3.
“Natutuwa po tayo na mataas ang tiwala ng ating mga kababayan at kapatid na Aeta sa bakuna, at sila mismo ang pumupunta sa ating mobile bus clinic para magpabakuna,” Lazatin said.
“Vaccines are for protection,” he urges.
The initial schedule of the vaccination in Barangay Sapangbato was set for two days – Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 – but was extended today, Sept. 3, to accommodate the remaining population, especially the Indigenous People, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said.
Calaguas, also the city government’s Chief Implementer for vaccination program, said Angeles City also recorded the highest single day tally of 1,963 residents vaccinated in Barangay Sapangbato last Aug. 31.
Meanwhile, a total of 9,764 residents have been vaccinated on Sept.1, also the highest number vaccinated in a single day since the start of the blended scheme vaccination – Ronda Bakuna at Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay programs.
Out of the 9,764, 5 Angeleños were vaccinated with first dose of Sinovac while 2,953 for the second dose; 1,431 for the first dose of Sinopharm via Ronda Bakuna in Barangay Lourdes Sur East; 1,767 first shot of Sinopharm via Ronda in Sapangbato; 2,453 received their first dose of Pfizer while 1,155 got fully vaccinated with Pfizer.
The Sundo Bakuna is also ongoing in barangays with the largest population, and has accommodated residents from Barangay Cutud, Pulung Cacutud, Pampang, Cutcut, Sapalibutad, and Pulung Maragul.
Six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys are being used to fetch families from the barangays going to the on-site vaccination areas at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School.
The sites are also available for walk-in Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities, and Pregnant Women.
To recall, prior the designated inoculation schedule for Ronda and Sundo Bakuna, vaccination forms were distributed by Lazatin and his Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel with Gender and Development Head Mina Cabiles and other deployed City Hall employees.
To date, a total of 163,472 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines or 35.31% of the city’s 462,928 population, while 85,486 or 18.46% are already fully vaccinated.
Records of the vaccination Technical Working Group and Committee also shows that a total of 9,472 in priority group A1 received their first dose of vaccine, while 7,267 were already fully-vaccinated; 26,995 for the first dose in A2, 25,967 for the second dose; 34,460 under A3 priority group received the first dose of vaccine, while 27,146 for the second dose; 38,854 personnel from A4 got their first shot of vaccine while 24,806 completed their two shots of vaccines; and 53,961 under the A5 for the first dose while 300 are already fully vaccinated.
Lazatin further commended the hard work of the members of the vaccination teams from Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, City Health Office, Mayor’s Office, Gender and Development Office, Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office, Business Permit and Licensing Division, Barangay Outreach Program, Blood Bank, Angeles City Traffic Development Office, Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, City Nutrition Office, Angeles City Tourism Office, Angeles City Disaster Risk and Management Center, Office of the Senior Citizen’s Affairs, Youth Office, Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary and City College of Angeles.
