CABANATUAN CITY – Officials of the Highway Patrol Group and Land Transportation Office in Nueva Ecija appealed to motorists to faithfully follow traffic rules “to avoid inconvenience and for their own safety.”
The call was made as a number of motorists were apprehended for different violations in a joint one-time-big time operation along Maharlika Highway here on Wednesday.
“Ang lahat naman ng ito ay ginagawa namin para sa kanilang kapakanan at kaligtasan ng publiko,” said HPG provincial officer Capt. Lester Zafra.
He urged motorist to keep their vehicles registered.
“Mag-seatbelt. Magsuot ng helmet. At yung mga basic na alam naman nila, yung iba pasaway lang talaga,” Zafra said.
Aside from being unregistered, among the common violations logged in the operation were having unauthorized fog lights and LED lights, lack of or having unauthorized plates, and not wearing of seatbelt.
Ferdinand Ison of the LTO Cabanatuan District Office stressed that vehicle registration is vital in cany case of accident. “Maging vigilant po tayo sa pagpaparehistro kasi kung tayo’y maaksidente o tayo aksidentihin para wala tayong problema,” he said.
