CABANATUAN CITY – At least
17 were arrested and 96 sachets of shabu were confiscated in the initial conduct of simultaneous anti-criminality and lawenforcement operations (SACLEO) in this city.

City police chief Lt. Col. Arnel Dial on Saturday said their operatives have conducted 11 buy- bust operations during the first frame of SACLEO that covered Sept. 17-23.

SACLEO, a branding of Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, has since become the police upscaled campaign against all forms of criminality.

Aside from the anti-drugs operations, Dial said, the city police also netted 11 persons with pending warrants of arrest, and one each for illegal gambling and carnapping.

“Sa direktiba ng ating provincial director, Col. Marvin Joe Saro, ay isinakatuparan natin at naging matagumpay ang SACLEO,” Dial said.

Several firearms of different caliber were surrendered to CCPS pending the renewal of their respective licenses, he said. This, as police conducted an accounting of 4,492 registered guns in the city.

It turned out, however, that while 42 have renewed and 810 are under process for renewal, 1,172 owners can no longer be located.

Dial said 154 gunowners have already died and 228 have sold their weapons.

“Sa ilang araw lang ay matatapos na natin ito,” he added.
