Covid-19 in NE: 5 new cases

CABANATUAN CITY – Two drivers, a television crew member, a carpenter, and a soldier compose the five new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease in Nueva Ecija, according to the provincial inter-agency task force on Tuesday.

This raised to 138 the total number of confirmed Covid-19 case, of which 68 have recovered, 64 are recuperating, and six have died.

Based on NEIATF report, the male drivers who are both 45-years old are a permanent resident of Barangay San Josef Sur who is quarantined in Manila, and a resident of Barangay Pulong Mangga, San Isidro who had travelled to Manila, Pampanga amd Bulacan and is currently under quarantine in a local facility.

The third reported case involved a 28-year-old male crew of ABS-CBN who resides in Barangay San Roque, Gapan City, according to NEIATF. The patient recorded travel to Tanay, Rizal and Quezon City and is presently admitted at a Gapan City isolation facility.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old carpenter from Barangay San Vicente, Gapan City was admitted to the Good Samaritan Hospital there and the 30-year-old soldier from Barangay Aquino, Licab town was a frontliner who is now quarantined at the World Trade Center.

Gov. Aurelio Umali who chairs NEIATF noted that anyone who goes out of their residence is exposed to the virus and needs to take every precautionary measure.

He reiterated his call to observe the minimum health standard prescribed by the IATF.
