BALANGA CITY — Gov. Albert Garcia on Thursdaythanked the sangguniang panlalawigan under the leadership of Vice-Gov. Cris Garcia for passing important resolutions and ordinances dealing with the coronavirus disease.
“Lubos ang pasasalamat ng inyong lingkod sa bumubuo ng SP sa kanilang masigasig at walang tigil na pagganap sa kanilang tungkulin sa kabila ng ating kinakaharap na pandemya dulot ng Covid-19,” the governor said.
The provincial board members in two districts discussed and passed the resolutions using Zoom application.
Among the measures are the declaration of the province under a state of calamity due to Covid–19, extension in the date of payment of real property tax, the liquor ban, and giving authority to the governor to accept donations in relation to Covid–19.
Included also are the grant of hazard pay for employees of the provincial government continuously reporting for duty while the province is still under enhanced community quarantine, and authorizing the governor to enter into a memorandum of agreement with private hospitals to extend medical services to poor non-Covid patients in the province.
The SP approved the additional annual investment program of Bataan in the appropriation of additional funds in the fight against the virus, approval in additional investment program in relation to Bayanihan grant for provinces to be able to give more assistance to Bataenos in time of ECQ.
The provincial lawmakers adopted resolutions granting one-time special risk allowance to qualified public health workers reporting for duty during ECQ, and authorizing the governor to sign an agreement with the Philippine Red Cross to test as many residents on Covid–19.
“Muli, ang aking taus-pusong pasasalamat sa inyong pakikiisa, katapatan at dedikasyon sa inyong sinumpaang tungkulin sa ating mga kababayan lalong-lalo na sa panahon ng pandemyang ito,” the governor told his cousin, the vice-governor, and SP members.
