MABALACAT CITY — In a Facebook post uploaded on Tuesday through Mabalacat City News Covid-19 Update, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo made a video call for unity, understanding, and prayer to win the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Garbo also addressed and clarified current issues with his constituents on the recent financial payout that was given to the senior citizens, the social amelioration program (SAP) distribution, and the mass testing in New Clark City.
According to Garbo, the SAP has already started being distributed in 27 barangays in this city starting with those with larger population as priority including Dau, San Francisco, Poblacion, and Mabiga.
Garbo said the process for the SAP allocation is per barangay as they will recommend the beneficiaries to the social welfare officer that will undertake further validation for qualified recommendation.
Garbo clarified that apart from the SAP and relief operations, the mass testing is also one of the government’s priorities as it will detect and trace PUIs and PUMs in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
Garbo also said that the city government has prepared contingency plans and is ready for situations that may arise in this city for the “new normal.”
Garbo also acknowledged the great efforts by the LGUs, medical and non-medical frontliners as he calls for solidarity, understanding, and a strong faith among his constituents to mitigate the spread and fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
