CLARK FREEPORT— At least 300 cataract patients will undergo surgery on June 16 as part of Clark Development Corporation’s (CDC) corporate social responsibility project.

Disclosing this to Punto, CDC President and CEO Benigno N. Ricafort said that more than 450 indigent patients are expected to undergo cataract and harelip operations at the Jose A. Datu Hospital in Bacolor, Pampanga within the same month.

Ricafort said the CDC joined efforts with Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP), a non-government organization that provide assistance to the indigent people in the province.  Sacop was once led by outgoing Gov. Eddie Panlilio.

In a report provided by CDC’s Special Concerns Office (SCO) ManagerPepito Villanueva, he said harelip screening was held at the headquarters of Sacop in the City of San Fernando and at least 152 patients were able to get medical clearance for the operations.

The CDC said the SCO had been in the forefront of various community projects, and continues to leave an indelible imprint on beneficiaries for its commitment to improving the lives of the less-privileged within the province.
