CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—A complete line-up for the Pampanga Councilors’ League (PCL), except for the position of vice president, was presented on Sunday by Porac Number 1 Councilor Mike Tapang who is vying for the group’s presidency.

Tapang vowed to donate his salary as ex-officio member of the provincial board to the league if he wins the elections set on July 24.

During the presentation at the Max’s Restaurant here, Tapang signed a contract with his colleagues vowing to resign after one year if he fails to fulfil his promises.

Among the provisions of the contract other than donating his salary to the funds of the PCL is a monthly meeting with his team at the provincial board and a regular quarterly meeting with the 214 councilor-members of the PCL to accommodate all four districts of the province.

Tapang also vowed to ensure the benefits of PCL members like hospitalization, death, professional and financial assistance, family assistance for deceased members as well as development of parliamentary skills.

A PCL website will also be put online to ensure transparency and accountability, Tapang said. The PCL presidential candidate said the website will also serve as access point for their constituents, the media and their colleagues. “Banta akakit yu nung nanung kekeng gagawan (So that you can see what we are doing),” Tapang said.

“Through the PCL website we can share projects, policies and ideas as well as draft ordinances and resolutions that will be applicable to our respective jurisdictions,” he said. It will also serve as a data base of information, he added.

“Kung ano po ang ipinangako namin gagawin po namin. Kung hindi ko po magawa ito, ako’y bababa sa pwesto at ang vice president po ang uupo bilang pangulo (Whatever we promised will do. If I fail to do this I will step down from the presidency and the vice president will take over),” assured Tapang.

He said the vice president will be announced later.

Tapang’s team includes Mabalacat’s Dwight Morales as business manager, Floridablanca’s Ronnieboy Capulong as director, Guagua’s Roan Reyes, Floridablanca’s Jocelyn Ong, Lubao’s John Susi as secretary-general, Sta. Rita’s Renato Gopez, San Luis’ Cesar Lagman as auditor, Sasmuan’s Bong Velasco, Sto. Tomas’ Angel David, Mexico’s Eduardo Vitangcul as PRO and San Simon’s Dey Tayag as director.

Also present at the event were Porac’s Rey Lapid and Regin Clarete.
