BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Trade and Industry on Tuesday opened its two-day “Diskwento Caravan” at the Plaza Mayor here.

DTI provincial director Yay Lasam said products for sale are of discounted prices, the least at 10 percent. She announced that even Marikina Shoes promised to come to offer shoes at the lowest price.

Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III lauded DTI for holding the caravan in the city. “Tamang-tama ang caravan dahil malapit na namang magbukas ang mga paaralan para makabili sa mababang halaga ng mga gamit eskwela at iba pang pangangailangan ang mga taga-Balanga at karatig-bayan,” the mayor said.

On sale under blue-colored DTI tents are shorts and T-shirts for children, school supplies like notebooks, papers, pencils, crayons and school bags.

Food supplies like NFA rice, fish sauce, soy suace, catsup, hams, coffee, canned goods, powdered milk, araro cookies and other delicacies are also available. Also offered for sale are walis tambo. Other attendants are also offering free massage services.

Garcia considered the launching as successful after noticing that many customers were already queuing at different stalls.
