APALIT, Pampanga – As though the misery of perennial floods in their towns were not hellish enough, the commuting Macabebe and Masantol folk had still to contend with “moon roads” – cratered, potholed, eroded thoroughfares in Apalit town, like this portion of the provincial road in Sitio Santiago, Barangay San Vicente, and MacArthur Highway itself, which only last August was patched up by the provincial government with the help of quarry operators and even inspected by Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman.
Netizens call out government officials to use their affinity with contractors and help in improving road conditions here, notably: Mayor Jun Tetangco, said to be the brother of Maria Criselda Margarita Tetangco-Beltran, owner of 11-16 Construction with address in Apalit itself, and daughter in-law of the owner of Ferdstar Builders, both among the Top 10 flood control project contractors in Pampanga in the sumbongsapangulo website; and
Pampanga 4th District Rep. Dr. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum, herself from Macabebe and said to be cousin in-law of Edgardo Sagum, owner of Eddmari Construction & Trading which projects included the infamous Candating Flood Control in Arayat the Pampanga Delta Bridge and also among the Top 10 in Pampanga.
