Korean bizman found dead

    CABANATUAN CITY – A Korean businessman was brutally killed inside a rented apartment in Barangay San Josef Norte here Monday.

    Lee Hae Beom, 53, who owned several jewelry stalls in malls here was found lifeless at about 3 pm Tuesday inside the comfort room at the ground floor of Santiago Apartment, 34th St., San Josef Norte, police said.

    Supt. Eli Depra, city police chief, said a friend of the victim, identified as Lim Kunsu Lee, discovered the body.

    Depra said the victim was handcuffed and his face was “wrapped with packaging tape.” His body bore bullet wounds from still unspecified gun caliber, he said.

    His car, a Toyota Innova, was found burned inside the public cemetery here before dawn, also on Tuesday.

    Witnesses said the victim was last seen paying his employees’ salaries at around 10 pm on Monday.

    Police is still looking for possible motive behind the killing, including robbery.
