CLARK FREEPORT — Affordable and accessible healthcare for workers of this freeport and the contiguous communities is in the offing with the Pampanga Provincial Hospital (PPH)-Clark at its finishing touches.
In time for Labor Day, Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led representatives of 50 Clark locators, along with officials of the Clark Development Corp. in the “Alay sa Manggagawa: Parangal at Suporta sa Manggagawang Pilipino,” a site visit and orientation on medical benefits for Clark workers at the PPH-Clark on April 30.
An initiative of the vice governor, the Level 2 PPH-Clark stands on 9,259-square-meter area along Changi Gateway in Clark Global City through a deed of usufruct signed in 2020 by Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda” with then CDC president and CEO Noel Manankil.
“Para po ito sa ating mga manggagawa. We must have a healthy workforce to make our families happy, our communities at peace and our economy productive. I thank the CDC for helping the Pampanga provincial government in this new track in our health care system,” enthused the governor during the signing of the deed of usufruct.
On May 1, 2022, then-President Rodrigo Duterte broke ground for the PPH-Clark construction.
The PPH-Clark comprises 17 private rooms, 16 semi-private beds, and 110 ward beds. Key facilities include an emergency room, operating rooms, obstetrics and gynecology ward, intensive care units, neonatal intensive care unit, and outpatient department. Clinical, diagnostic, ancillary, and administrative services are integrated into its operations.
At Wednesday’s orientation, Vice Gov. Nanay Pineda emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to improving healthcare, explaining that the hospital was established to ensure workers have access to reliable and quality medical care. Punto News Team/CDC-PR
