ANGELES CITY – As the campaign heats up in the city, incumbent Pampanga 1st District congressman and mayoral aspirant Jon Lazatin has responded to criticisms regarding his alleged “lack of action” on a few local issues.

In a recent caucus, Lazatin acknowledged the concerns raised by his political foes: “Ang sinasabi ng mga naninira, wala pa naman nagawa iyang si Jon bilang mayor sa Angeles. Tama naman po sila, dahil hindi pa naman po ako mayor,” emphasizing that his current position as a candidate does not grant him the authority to implement policies or changes.

Lazatin pointed out, “While it is true that I am not yet the mayor, I am actively listening to the voices of our people.”

He addressed specific criticisms surrounding the environmental fee, a topic that his rivals have been trying to keep afloat to generate discussion among the constituents.

“I understand the importance of addressing this issue, and I have been diligently studying the concerns raised by many Angeleños. Meron na akong planong solution dyan,” Lazatin said.

The mayoral aspirant has outlined a comprehensive plan aimed at addressing various environmental issues facing the city. He expressed confidence that, if elected, he will implement effective and legal strategies to scrap the environmental fee but at the same time, enhance sustainability efforts in Angeles City.

Lazatin’s approach has resonated with many Angeleños who were listening attentively at Barangay Agapito del Rosario despite the rain as they appreciate his willingness to engage with them directly.

The three-term congressman also emphasized that listening to the people is a critical step in creating policies that truly reflect the needs and desires of the Angeleños.

As the election draws nearer, Jon Lazatin remains focused on his vision for a cleaner, better, and more prosperous Angeles City. Press release
