ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has directed the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) to solve within 72 hours the fatal shooting of a Korean national at the Korea Town on April 19.
The victim was shot around 1:50 p.m. along Friendship Highway, near a BPI branch in what was initially reported as a robbery incident. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was later declared dead.
This is the first recorded case involving the death of a Korean national in a shooting linked to robbery in Angeles City.
Expressing deep concern over the incident, Lazatin instructed the ACPO, led by acting city director Col. Joselito Villarosa Jr., to “exhaust all means necessary” to swiftly identify and apprehend the suspect, while ensuring the continued safety of both residents and tourists in the city.
“We will not allow this brutal act to go unresolved. Angeles City must remain a safe place for both locals and foreigners,” the mayor said. Angeles CIO
