CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The second tranche of the new minimum wage rate in Central Luzon takes effect on April 16, according to the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RPTWB).

Wage Order No. RBIII-25, which was approved last year, mandates a P50 to P66 increase in the daily minimum wage of workers in private establishments in Central Luzon.

“To recall, the first tranche, or an equivalent increase of P25 to P41, took effect last October 17, 2024. Starting April 16, the second tranche, or an additional P25 will take effect,” RPTWB chairperson and Department of Labor and Employment Region 3 director Geraldine Panlilio explained.

Upon effectivity of the second tranche, the new daily minimum wage in Central Luzon provinces except Aurora will be P550 for non-agriculture establishments and P520 for workers in agricultural establishments.

Workers in retail/service establishments will receive a daily minimum wage of P540.

In Aurora, the daily minimum wage rate for non-agricultural workers is P500 starting April 16.

Daily minimum wage of plantation and non-plantation workers in agricultural establishments will be P485.

Workers in retail and service establishments in the province will receive a daily minimum wage of P435. Marie Joy S. Carbungco/PIA-3
