ANGELES CITY – “Bale wala ang 187 bills na na-file sa pangalan ni Congressman [Carmelo] Lazatin dahil walang kabuluhan ang mga ito sa ikauunlad ng primera distrito.”

Pampanga first district congressional candidate Ares Yabut laughed off claims of Lazatin on the number of bills he filed in congress.

“He failed in the three most important measures – the lone districting of Angeles, the cityhood of Mabalacat, and the conversion of the Pampanga Agricultural College into an agricultural state university,” Yabut told Punto Central Luzon.

“Whatever explanations Mr.Lazatin will give to our people, they still feel shortchanged. After almost 15 years as 1st district representative, not one of the three measures were realized,” he added.

Yabut earlier disclosed that if given the chance to serve the people of the first district as congressman, he will prioritize the three measures which Lazatin reportedly failed to accomplish.

He also said that 3rd district Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales has successfully caused the conversion of the Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trade (DHVCAT) into a state technological university only in his first term.

“Kung baga sa boxer, si Cong. Tarzan ay nanalo na sa 189 fights, pero talo sa tatlong championship bouts,” he said.

“Talo sa lone district, Talo sa cityhood. Talo sa conversion para state university. All in after serving three straight terms, and today with his fourth term,” Yabut said.

These are his bright ideas. They are not my initiative, I only promise our people that I will pursue them to realization, I have the energy and the drive which older people no longer have,” he said.

Yabut said that he will give Lazatin a good fight in the first district of Pampanga.

He also explained that lapses in his attendance record, cited by columnist Bong Lacson, as caused by city council colleagues in the opposition who frequently walked out or boycotted sessions dilatory tactics to derail the administration’s priority.
