FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City – The 7th Infantry Division’s capabilities received a big boost after receiving 36 new trooper trucks and four military ambulances at the command headquarters here Wednesday.

Major Gen. Angelito de Leon, 7ID commander, said the new equipment are a big boost to their capabilities, being part of the Modernization Program and Transformation Roadmap of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

In his message, De Leon said the trucks and ambulances were just part of the program, saying that the command has earlier received firepower such as R4s which are more sophisticated than the M16 rifles.

But it is not only the army now being modernized, de Leon said.

The Philippine Navy, he said, has also received the first ever strategic vessel that can be used as an alternate command and control vessel while the Philippine Air Force got two FA-50 Led-in fighter jets.

These combat equipment, de Leon said, are proof of how the government cares for national security and the Filipino soldiers.
