CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Six persons were reported missing when unusually heavy northeast monsoon rains hit in Aurora province for three days up to last Tuesday.
In a report, the Aurora Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Council (PRRMC) said the missing persons were from Baler and Dilasag towns.
They were identified as Cesar Vargas, Santi Reynon, and Alex Tacla,all residents ofBarangay Sabang in Baler, and Eduardo Donato, 38, Samuel Donato Jr. , 15, at Samuel Donato Sr., 31, all from Barangay Masagana in Dilasag.
They were reported to have been swept away by strong water currents that flooded the barangays.
The PDDRMC said the unusually heavy rains affected in various ways 3,929 families with 19,188 members in Aurora. Of these, 101 families with 297 members moved to four evacuation centers in Casiguran and Dilasag.
PDRRMC officials in Aurora said the heavy rains started last Sunday and ceased only last Tuesday.
As of yesterday, the impassable routes in the province included the Baler- Casiguran Road whose portions were affected by landslides,in Barangay Dianned, Dipaculao and the Casiguran- Dilasag Road.
