3 Garcia siblings file COCs in Bataan

BALANGA CITY — Three members of the Garcia family and a cousin and two Romans filed their certificates of candidacy Tuesday at the provincial and city offices of the Commission on Elections here.

Gov. Albert “Abet” Garcia and brother, 2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III, both on their last terms, are switching positions for the 2022 polls.

Another brother, Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia who is in his third and last term, is seeking reelection.

Their first cousin, Vice-Gov. Cris Garcia, sought reelection on her last term.

First District Rep. Geraldine Roman filed her COC for her last term while brother, lawyer Tonyboy Roman, in his first run for public office, is eyeing one of the 10-member seats in the sangguniang panlalawigan.

Mayor Garcia filed his COC with his candidates for vice-mayor and 10 sangguniang panglunsod while the Garcias and the Romans with their sangguniang panlalawigan candidates.

The Garcias belong to either the National Unity Party or PDP- Laban while the Romans with the Lakas-CMD but they belong to one group “in the spirit of unification.”

On the fifth day of the filing of COCs, the Garcia-Roman group has remained unopposed.
