IBA, Zambales – Two gunrunning suspects were arrested by elements of Zambales police in a buy-bust Tuesday evening in San Narciso town.

Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspects as John Paco y Carino, 22, and Elmer Guardiano, 23, both residents of Castillejos town.

In a report to the ZPPO, San Narciso acting police chief Major Johnathan C. Bardaje said that at around 11:35 p.m. of Oct. 5, operatives of the town police and the provincial special task group-ICP, conducted the buy-bust against the suspects in Barangay San Juan.

Seized from the suspects were one .45 Colt MK IV pistol without serial number, six pieces of .45 ammunition, one .45 magazine, one Oppo cell phone, the P1,000 bill used as sting money, 24 pieces of P1,000 bills, one floral pink backpack bag, and one Honda XRM motorcycle with no plate numbers.

The suspects are now locked up in facing charges for violation of RA 10591(Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions).

“When a person has unlicensed firearms or with expired license, it is already considered as loose firearms. Anyone who has either expired license or unlicensed firearms can coordinate with the nearest police station. Zambales PNP is more than willing to assist you with this matter. Otherwise, the PNP will be forced to apply for a search warrant and confiscate the firearms with corresponding charges against the violator,” Cardiño said by way of warning to the public.
