CABANATUAN CITY – Two suspected pushers of shabu from this city were killed in separate anti-drugs operations in less than 24 hours in two Nueva Ecija towns, police reported Sunday.
Col. Leon Victor Rosete, chief of the Nueva Ecija police provincial office, identifi ed the suspects as Benjamin dela Merced, 51, resident of Aduas Sur, and Noelito Balmeyo of Purok 2, Barangay Imelda, Cabanatuan City.
Rosete said Dela Merced was killed in a buy-bust operation launched by the police’s drug enforcement in Barangay Canaan West, Rizal town at around 9:15 a.m. Saturday, while Balmeyo was killed in Barangay Baterya, Gabaldon at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Police said undercover cops were able to buy shabu from the suspects but the latter supposedly opened fire against operatives upon sensing they were dealing with policemen.
Both suspects yielded .38 revolvers and several sachets of shabu.
