PAMPANGA first district candidate for congressman Roseller “Yeng” Guiao said that he will sponsor a bill that will give additional allowances to more than 400,000 public school teachers and non-teaching personnel nationwide using the Special Education Fund (SEF).
“A 2,000 to 3,000 per month allowance per public school teacher and non teaching personnel charged to the Special Education Fund (SEF) will serve as economic assistance to them. They can concentrate more on educating our youth and students,” Guiao said.
ABEKA Party List first nominee Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan who is also the incumbent League of Cities of the Philippines national president and Angeles City Mayor, said that they will support the said measure as “public school teachers are our heroes” and “they more than deserve additional allowances funded thru the SEF.”
The SEF is the share of the education sector in the real property tax collected by local government units. It is managed by the Local School Boards of every province, city and municipality as mandated by the Local Government Code.
