BALANGA CITY — To augment the lack of protective equipment for frontliners in the war against Covid–19, Gov. Albert Garcia tasked provincial government employees in the work–from–home scheme to produce face shields and face masks.
Angel Ortiz Luis, provincial information officer, said 22 employees were assigned to finish 478 face shields from acetate, rubber band and double-sided tapes provided by the provincial general services office.
Some were made of materials found at home like foam, tape, garter, plastic cover or plastic envelop and reusable and washable fabric, she said.
The assignment started March 20, 2020 and as of Tuesday, 372 face shields and 50 face masks have been completed and distributed to the Metro Bataan Development Authority and Bagac Community and Medicare Hospital.
“This shows that through creativity coupled with a genuine desire to be of help, we can do our share in the fight against Covid – 19,” Luis said.
