JAEN, Nueva Ecija – Two suspected drug peddlers were seriously wounded while a woman who was reportedly pregnant was killed when two unidentified suspects peppered them with bullets inside a resthouse in Barangay Lambakin here Tuesday.
The woman was identified only as Sara, 18 to 20 years-old, a resident of Manggahan, Baliwag, Bulacan.
Seriously wounded were Sara’s alleged live-in partners, Darious Agapito, 39, resident of the said village and Darwin Galotice, 31, a resident of Barangay Conception East, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.
Chief Insp. Restituto Reyes, Jaen police chief, said Agapito was listed no. 1 in their drugs watchlist while Galotice was facing theft cases in his hometown.
Dr. Jun Concepcion, medico legal officer, said Sara was pregnant. “She is three to four months pregnant.”
He said the woman sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of her body, mostly head and breast. Reyes said two unidentified men barged into Agapito’s rest house at about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Reyes said Sara was “found lying lifeless at the folding bed with gunshot wounds on her face and head.”
Investigation disclosed that besides being on the top list of drug suspects in the town, Agapito is facing illegal possession of firearms and selling of illegal drugs in various local courts.
Galotice was identified as being involved in theft incidents in Concepcion, Zaragoza, Reyes said.
A relative of Agapito said the latter has been living with Sara for over a year now. Agapito is unofficially separated to his legal wife, the relative said.
Police are still trying to establish the motive behind the killing.
