CLARK FREEPORT – Dreams of a White Christmas – with all its shibboleths of snow, sleighs, skates, slides, and the Polar Express – shall come true at The Lakeshore estate in Mexico town, starting mid-November.
A first-of-its-kind-in-the-Philippines Arctic Park is up for construction at The Lakeshore, the estate developer Central Country Estate Inc. announced at the Kapi-Hann media forum of the Pampanga Press Club at Swissotel-Clark on Oct. 5.
Architect BJ Mangio, CCEI chief operating officer, said the park will have a 1,200-square meter skating rink of synthetic ice where skating classes and shows will be hosted.
Intermittent artificial snow fall will be experienced throughout a one-hectare area of the estate where there will also be ice slides and snow field for toboggan and sled rides. To complete the winter Christmas atmosphere, a Polar Express ride will also be put up.
A food park with stalls designed with European façades will serve local and international culinary delights.
‘Everything is environment friendly,” assured Mangio of the carbon footprint the park will entail with the same technology used in Singapore for their skating rinks and in the US for ice hockey.
CCEI partners for the Arctic Park are Beyond Imagination and Double Rainbow.
Last month, The Lakeshore officially opened its Christmas Park complete with colorful lights and displays including a giant lantern, a gingerbread house, and huge Christmas tree decorations.
