ANGELES CITY — After-work chill caps the daily grind in Japan, giving rise to the popularity of the izakaya – informal gastro-pubs serving a variety of small, typically inexpensive, dishes and snacks to go with alcoholic drinks. Aye, much like the likes of Irish taverns and Spanish tapa bars.

That izakaya culture has just set root right at the heart of the city, on the sidewalk of Best Western Metro Clark along MacArthur Highway in the Balibago business district – with the eponymous Izakaya by Namari.

Namari Japanese Bistro allotted part of the weekend to set up and arrange an izakaya along the highway to reach out to a wider market by creating its menu based on its own at half the serving and half the price.

By offering affordable Japanese food that is worth the umami with a quality that of Namari, Izakaya by Namari is ready to satisfy your Japanese food cravings from bowls of ramen to gyudon and gyoza, sushi rolls and sashimi, even sticks of good old Pinoy delicacies isaw and paldewut to match your beer.

Namari Japanese Bistro is open every day from 11:30 a.m to 10 p.m. while Izakaya by Namari is open every Fridays and Saturdays, 6 p.m. onwards.
