I’m back! For the anniversary issue of Punto, I have decided to share with you one of my causes, the development and recognition of the wedding industry of Pampanga to Central Luzon and the entire nation. Many of us do not really see the wedding industry as a substantial income generating sector for our fellow Kapampangans, and our local governments. To many of us we simply see weddings occur and are sometimes invited, but we are not privy to the detail, hard work and planning that happens behind the scenes of each and every wedding. We also do not see how this industry gives back to the people, generate jobs and boost the economy of the province and the country.

For most people, weddings are a once (or twice) in a lifetime event, one that is eagerly anticipated and wisely saved up for by couples and their families. I am not sure if my statistics will still hold true as of this date, but it has been found that 60% of young professionals abroad go back to the Philippines to get married. As such, they bring in their hard earned money to stage what they hope would be the grandest and happiest day in their lives.

This been said brings us to acknowledging some of the people who make these dreams come true for many starry eyes couples. The wedding suppliers who are cornerstones of a well run and highly specialized industry. These are the companies and people who achieve magic for their clients as they happily send them off together with colourful wedding memories. From reception venues, floral architects, designers and so many others, these are the hard working, unsung heroes that Pampanga and the rest of the world have to know.

For wedding venues, couples searching for palatial grandness will definitely rave about Grand Palazzo Royale. Its European air and fabulous interiors will take the breath away of any guest from anywhere in the country.  For those who are looking for formal and reserved sophistication, Fontana Golf and Leisure Parks have fabulous function rooms to choose from.  For those who are West of Pampanga, the celebrated King’s Royal Promenade would be the perfect venue for you. For intimate and fabulously stylish weddings, Uni-Chef’s Teresa Hall is a definite yes.

When it concerns wedding gowns and entourage outfits Frederick Policarpio will not disappoint. His excellence in style and fit make him one of the country’s best. West of Pampanga, designer Mat Basilio weaves his own magic in terms of form and classic bridal attire. His eye for elegance and class make him a standout.  East of Pampanga, designer Glen Canlas delights his clientele with creations that go beyond their expectations. Glen’s take on wedding couture is confident and winsome.  Angeles City’s Jojo Macapinlac brings to fore his home grown aesthetics with his international experience in making wedding gowns. It is his fresh outlook and imagination that makes him a standout.

Images and video mastery is one subject that Kapampangans are at the forefront. The wedding industry here is gifted with the very best in the country. Note worthy in the videography scene are Kquentors and Chu Cadiogan, their expertise and imaginative editing win raves among their many clients. Oftentimes their masterpieces command applause and praise from people after they see their productions. Photography offered by Michelle Pineda-Pastoril, John Nicolay and Paolo Feliciano are creative and thought inspiring. These three artists push the envelope where images are concerned. They capture not just the moment but the emotion of the subjects. It is this unique quality that puts them with the very best in the field.

Floral architecture and event styling is at its finest in Pampanga. Plumeria by Pancho Pantig and the Flower Garden by Jeannette Olalia-Garbes are simply divine. Their creations go beyond expectations of clients. Their designs are fluid to suit personal tastes and spirited capturing one’s imagination.  Both have years of experience and training, yet both are pleasant and a joy to work with.

Making a bride truly magnificent by enhancing her God given good looks is the arena of three visage artists, Francois Roxas, Coiffeur’s Rolan “Bok” Cayanan,   and Dan Jose. These magicians of make-up and tresses have advanced the realm of beauty so much in Central Luzon that their names are synonymous to it. Their professional touch is so sought after that all three’s work calendar is all but full.

These are just some of the wedding suppliers that you will see in the grandest and most anticipated wedding fair of the year, Wedding Destination: Pampanga Year 3. This will be staged at the SM CITY Clark on July 8, 9 and 10. Organizing this showcase of talent and creativity has been such a worthy cause for me as I want everyone to know that Pampanga has what it takes to be among the very best in terms of weddings and events. Wedding Destinations: Pampanga will bring together the best and the brightest suppliers with the latest in innovations concerning their respective crafts. Last year, 6.8 million worth of services were booked on the spot. With more than 50 plus suppliers on exhibit, Wedding Destinations: Pampanga is set to wow Central Luzon and the Philippines.
