Watershed advocacy gains another adherent

ANGELES CITY – The Adopt-A-Watershed Reforestation Program (AWRP) gained one more adherent in DKL Manufacturing company based in Porac town. 

Led by Gabriel “Bing” Sangil, DKL Manufacturing personnel planted some 1,000 assorted tree seedlings in Sitio Balaru, Barangay Sapangbato on Dec. 12. The area is part of the 527-hectare watershed that is under the authority of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.

Joining them were the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advisory Council, Inc.  led by Renato Tayag Jr. and the stewards of the Kapatirang Aetas ng Angeles-Porac para sa Kalikasan at Agrikultura.

The AWRP is a joint program of ARAW-ACI and the Angeles City LGU. To date, there 14 private sector partners for the program have adopted planting sites at the Angeles Watershed, among them are Converge ICT Solutions, Pampanga Press Club, Porac Bank, Editha Arceo Family, Holy Family Batch ’80, Philippine Academy of Family Physicians- Pampanga Chapter, Scrubbed NET, Rotary Club of Angeles Kuliat, Jocson College, De La Salle Alumni Association of Pampanga, Go Clark Philippines & Tayag Family, Balibago Waterwork Systems, Inc., and DKL Manufacturing.
