MARIVELES, Bataan — A gas station of Total Philippines Corp. in a village here on Thursday announced that along with selected branches in the country it would start giving free gasoline or diesel worth P300 daily to employees of hospitals starting April 3.
Romulo Velasco Jr., gas station owner, said the free fuel assistance to hospital workers who report using their vehicles will last until April 17. As of Friday morning 16 vehicles of hospital staff have received their fill of free fuel.
Velasco said that there are other branches of Total Philippines in other parts of the country participating in the program but only their station was approved in Bataan. It is located adjacent to the highway in barangay Townsite, Mariveles but will be open tohospital employees anywhere in Bataan.
Workers in hospitals, both public and private, that include doctors, nurses, radiology technicians, administrators, cashiers, messengers, laboratory personnel, drivers, are entitled to the fuel subsidy.They are required only to present their hospital identification card.
Velasco said this is Total Philippines’ way of thanking the medical workers, the frontliners in the war against the coronavirus disease.
“Alam po namin na hindi matatawaran ang serbisyong inyong iniaalay para sa bayan at mamamayan ngayong tayo ay nahaharap sa problemang dulot ng pandemic na Covid–19 kaya bilang pasasalamat ay ito po ang handog sa inyo ng Total Philippines,” Velasco said.
