ANGELES CITY – Police are closing in on suspects in the gunslaying of P01 Gaudencio Tolentino of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) in Barangay Salapungan here on Monday.
Chief Insp. Wilfredo Paulo, ACPO Station 6 commander, said they are gathering more pieces of evidence to pin down the killers of Tolentino who was riding his motorbike when shot dead by two unidentified men at a thickly-populated area.
"We have to solidify the case so that it will get over the fiscal’s office," said Paulo.
"I could not give you more details for the sake of the investigation," added Paulo.
Sr. Supt. Pierre Bucsit, city police director, formed "Task Force Tolentino" to handle the murder of the 35-year-old cop who left behind three children, one of whom is four months old.
Paulo is the leader of the task force.
Tolentino was assigned at the ACPO Police Station 6 when killed by two gunmen riding in tandem on board a motorcycle.
Paulo said Tolentino sustained three bullet wounds in the head and body. The single bullet in his head was the most fatal.
