CABANATUAN CITY – Playing dead after being hacked with a bolo, Annalyn Caballero, 19, crawled out of her family’s rented apartment, was able to seek a neighbor’s help and later helped police solve the murder of six memers of her family.
She told police investigators that she was awakened early dawn of April 20 by painful blows on her body.
After the assailant left, she crawled to a neighbor’s house and was transported to a hospital and was saved from death.
She suffered three hacked wounds on her nape and her three fingers in her right hand were amputated.
Annalyn learned that her mother Leonila, 48; siblings Jennifer, 24, Sergio, 29, Amy, 12, and Joshua, 10; and brother-in-law Sonny Custodio were dead from that carnage in their rented apartment at Barangay Tambo Adorable in San Leonardo town.
Her one-year-old daughter and Jennifer’s five-year-old were found unhurt and were turned over to their relatives.
Senior Supt. Eliseo Tanding, Nueva Ecija police director, immediately formed a team and proceeded to Capas, Tarlac upon learning that the suspect, identified as one Jesse Tesoro, is a native of the place.
In coordination with the Tarlac police, the suspect was found in his hiding place and was arrested without incident.
The San Leonardo police will file charges of multiple murder and attempted murder before the prosecutor’s office against Tesoro.
