FOR TRUE-BLUE foodies, no trip to Pampanga is ever complete without a meal or pasalubong at Susie’s Cuisine. Recognized as the best in Kapangan Kapampangan, the restaurant is a must stop for both locals and vacationers alike for the best tasting desserts like Tibok-Tibok, Moche, Pansit Luglug – a Kapampangan version of Pansit Palabok – they savor for snack or merienda, as well as and many more delectable dishes prepared with flair.

It comes as a surprise for captive customers to learn that Susie’s founder, Anicia R. Ayson, also known as Apung Aning, was a dentist and had no formal training in the kitchen but with so much love and passion for cooking.

“Susie’s Cuisine was founded in 1972 by Apung Aning, named after her daughter Susie. She really had the passion for cooking and generously shared her great food especially desserts with family and friends. Eventually, she was inspired to open her first store in Nepo Mart, Angeles City,” shared JP Concepcion, executive chef of Susie’s Cuisine and husband of Susie’s daughter Mariama.

The business has withstood the test of time and flourished to celebrate the opening of its 24th store at the Clark Freeport Zone on Sept. 12. With the thirdgeneration of the family handling most of business, customers experience a refreshing ambiance with a different new look of the restaurant and more appetizing Kapampangan dishes to enjoy. “Until now we practice the traditional way of cooking by hand. We use the same recipe and we cook out of love, I guess this is what makes us unique and the reason why customers keep coming back to Susie’s Cuisine,” furthered JP. “We want to spread the love and taste of real Kapampangan food not only here but also to other places outside
Pampanga and abroad.”

While majority of the Susie’s Cuisine stores are located in
Central Luzon, two branches are in Metro Manila – at Tomas Morato in Quezon City and Las Piñas. Soon to open is a dinein and pasalubong store inside the domestic area of Clark International Airport.

As the guest of honor during the opening of the Clark branch, celebrity TV host and actress Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla had a
lot to share because she and her family are regulars at the Tomas
Morato branch.

“When I learned that they already have the branch in Manila I was so happy and proud that the Susie’s Cuisine family is growing and getting bigger. We are really a fan of Susie’s Cuisine and we love their signature Tibok-Tibok.” she enthused.
